When I first got Spotify several years ago, I wanted to use it to help me find new music that I’d never heard before by artists that were new to me. So, i created a playlist called “New Music that Interests Me”.

I  built it up for a few days…and then promptly forgot about the whole thing!!

I recently found it again and gave a listen to the dozen or so songs that I’d submitted sometime prior to COVID. And—what do you know—they almost all hold up really well. There’s some great stuff in that playlist you should check out.

The most interesting, not necessarily my favorite, is today’s DSOTD. It feels very new and sonically challenging to get me out of my comfort zone.

So now that I’m a year older as of yesterday, I’m going to revive the “New Music that Interests Me” playlist and do some work to find some music by artists who don’t go to Shoppers on Thursdays for the seniors discount :-)…I’m sure some of them will be future songs of the day.
